What a howl

Buddy the beagle is the newest addition to my son’s and daughter-in-law’s menagerie.

He came to them as a stray, eating out of their trash. They had to coax him into trusting them.

He’s now a proud member of the family, a wild ball of love and need, willfulness and contrition, and, above all, insatiable appetite.

He is learning to play.

Here’s a video of Buddy showing off his best howl, on command:

Gotta love him ❤

  1. Oh my goodness! That video! Too funny! Also, I love this carefully worded description, “a wild ball of love and need, willfulness and contrition, and, above all, insatiable appetite.”

  2. Fran, it won’t surprise you to know that I once had a howling beagle named Willard. Buddy is adorable – – and what a lucky dog to have landed in the lap of a family who loves him and will spend time howling with him. I love the Yoda pants, too. Your daughter in law has good taste in sleepwear! She is precious.

  3. Buddy is adorable singing! Looks like he knows he is loved, now. It’s wonderful to rescue an animal. After our thirteen and half old cat, Little, died in February of 2024 we rescued two five-month-old kittens that are a sister and a brother. I could tell they had been through some trauma, but they have become affectionate, loveable, and follow me around like Little used to do. I still miss Little every day, as I miss our nineteen and half year-old cat, Lovee, who died before Little. Lovee would purr in my ear and loved to snuggle under the blankets with us.
