Discouraging week
somewhat less than magical
suddenly transformed
by the appearance
of a tiny green dragon
and its paper tree
enchantment handmade
and proudly given by a
sweet student, to me
Created by a fourth-grader, the fantastic little beast lives on my bookcase now
lit bits and pieces 
Am I seeing lots of tape? What a cute dragon and sweet gesture.

Lol. Yes. Lots of tape. The student affixed the tree to its base and instructed me to tape it to my desk, as the dragon “is nothing without his tree.”

It really does, doesn’t it? That little book on wizards is part of a ceramic bookend on top of the bookcase in my room at school. Kids love to come borrow books and examine my Harry Potter memorabilia.

Love this! Reminds me of a paper computer a student made and gave to me. I kept it for decades until it got soaked by an errant coffee cup. Love how kids create and connect.

Fascinating what kids create – I have a tiny origami crane, about the size of a fingernail clipping, made by a student long ago. Magical!
