One-week-old finches
sport mohawks with drowsy pride
in their tiny nest

There are actually four baby finches in the nest on my front door wreath,
one of whom was Little Blue Egg.
This photo was taken a week after they hatched on Easter.

Look at the cuteness! Awwww…..I wish we knew which one was Little Blue! They’re adorable! I too have four eggs in my bluebird house but no baby birds yet! Can’t wait! What are you naming the other 3?

The baby finches really are so precious! Tempted to name them Scout, Jem, Atticus and Little Blue Radley 🤣🤣🤣. We have a bluebird nest in a house out back on the deck. Really hoping to get some good photos of babies when they start flying lessons.

I love this perfect triangle of fuzzy heads! What a joy, watching them transform and grow. Looking forward to the flight report, too. Favorite phrase–“drowsy pride”.

The little finches are cheeping loudly on the door every day now – soon (too soon) they will be gone. I love all of the aliveness around me at this time of year!
