gogyoshi: a Japanese poem with a title and five lines
Hummingbird
All summer long, countless robins and doves
at least two broods of bluebirds and house finches
but only one hummingbird, appearing today in the pines
hovering before me like a magical fairy
casting a singular spell of joy

Ruby-throated hummingbird feeding from an obedient plant.

Wonderful poem and photo! I am unaware of this poetic form. I will have to do some research on this!

Thank you! The gogyoshi form is new to me also. Just two rules: a title and five lines. The photo is in the public domain, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (went back & linked). Today I am looking for a hummingbird feeder.

So many choices for hummingbird feeders out there, it could be difficult to pick. Good luck!
