Happy fungus

Pareidolia:
it’s not hallucination.
That shroom is smiling.

Should I wonder why?
Nah. It’s just a real fun guy.
—ba dum tiss. Sorry 🙂

Photographed during a neighborhood walk.
Fun prompt: What makes the mushroom so happy?

    • I believe nature smiles at us far more than we humans notice. I went back and added a second set of haiku here in case you didn’t see; couldn’t resist having a little pun…😬

  1. Of course, I had to look up pareidolia–thank you for naming my odd habit of finding faces in the bathroom linoleum and shower curtain! I wonder if this applies to clouds, too, that old game of finding shapes in them. I love the writing prompt with a sense of wonder built in. I’ll be working on building that “wonder muscle” in my students this year.

  2. I love how strong the power of observation finds its way through your words! And, of course, your humor. Thanks for this start to my morning!!
