Some dear friends of mine have a wire-haired dachshund by the same name. These lines would also apply to him. I am sending them this lovely poem.

Dachshunds are my family’s favorite breed! They’re so endearing (and exponentially stubborn, to which your friends will surely attest). Our Dennis is a cream-colored dachshund and as playful as he is, he was NOT pleased by the appearance of Wally. He spent the weekend sulking. Hope your friends enjoy the little poem.
